Together with the universities, the Berufsakademie Sachsen is one of the institutions of tertiary education. On 01.01.2025, the Berufsakademie Sachsen will be transformed into the Duale Hochschule Sachsen. As a state institution, it will offer around 40 courses of study leading students to a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering degree in practice-integrated dual courses of study and, in the future, will also offer dual Master’s degree courses and conduct cooperative research. The scientific-theoretical study sections will be carried out at the state academies and the practical study sections at a practice partner. In this way, the future Saxony Cooperative State University will provide institutions in the private sector, the liberal professions, comparable institutions outside the private sector and social institutions with excellently qualified specialists and managers in the fields of business, technology, health and social affairs. With its seven state academies, it is firmly rooted in the regions of Saxony.
Your tasks
The position is assigned to the dual study program International Tourism Management of the Business Department of the State Academy of Studies Breitenbrunn. In the future, it is possible to take over the management of the course.
Several years of experience in imparting knowledge to students, skills in study organization and sound knowledge of economic structures, processes and companies – primarily in the service and tourism sector – are desirable. Knowledge and experience of regional economic cycles is also desirable.
Applicants should demonstrate competence in at least two of the following areas and provide evidence of this in their application:
Marketing and tourism marketing
Hotel management
Tour operator and sales management
Destination management
Health tourism/spa management
Strong didactic skills, practical experience as a competent discussion partner for the dual practice partners as well as experience and knowledge in the supervision of students and in the organization of study processes are required in the coordination of content and organization as well as for the efficient design of the academic and practical study phases. Commitment and dedication to the further development of the “International Tourism Management” course are required.
Your qualifications
All applicants must fulfill the recruitment requirements according to § 59 SächsHSG:
completed university degree in the relevant academic field (e.g. general business administration, tourism business administration, controlling, business management)
pedagogical aptitude, which is usually proven by experience in teaching, university didactic qualifications and a trial course (trial lecture, trial course),
special aptitude for academic work, which is usually demonstrated by the quality of a doctorate,
special achievements in the application or development of academic knowledge and methods in a relevant professional practice, usually lasting five years, of which at least three years must have been spent outside the university sector.
