As Controller Ships Operations (f⁠/⁠m⁠/⁠d) at sea chefs, you will take on a responsible role in the financial controlling of the ships we manage.
In close cooperation with the operational departments on board and ashore, you will contribute to making financial processes transparent, efficient and reliable. You will analyze data, support planning, check processes and actively contribute to the further development of our reporting and controlling systems – in an exciting, international and maritime working environment.
What you can expect from us:
- Participation in the preparation, monitoring and control of budgets and liquidity planning
- Preparation of forecasts as well as monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and presentation of the results including concrete recommendations for action
- Auditing ship cash registers and monitoring cash flow at ship level
- Checking and approving customer invoices and preparing ship invoices on a voyage and monthly basis
- Reconciliation of relevant financial data to ensure data consistency
- Recording, checking and uploading relevant data to the accounting software
- Use of various software solutions, including the “Oracle” accounting software and the “CrunchTime!” merchandise management system
- Analysis and reporting with BI and data warehouse tools
- Further development and optimization of existing controlling and reporting tools in close coordination with the management level
- Ensuring internal control mechanisms and adherence to compliance requirements
- Interface function between the specialist departments on land and the operational units on board
Your course & your talents
What you bring with you:
- Completed commercial training or a degree in economics or hotel management
- Initial practical experience in the controlling environment desirable
- Strong understanding of numbers and analytical thinking skills
- Sound knowledge of accounting and controlling standards
- Confident use of MS Office, especially excellent Excel skills (including the use of formulas, pivot tables and advanced data analysis tools)
- Ability to independently develop creative solutions and use Excel as an efficient tool to optimize controlling processes
- Independent, structured and detailed way of working as well as strong organizational skills
- Sense of responsibility and ability to communicate complex issues in an understandable way
- Ability to work in a team, strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate across departments
- High motivation and willingness to work on projects in a solution-oriented manner
- Very good written and spoken German and English skills
