As the central service provider at Hamburg City Hall, we at the State Agency RathausService provide a wide range of professional services for the Senate Chancellery, the Citizens’ Representation Office, the political parties represented in the Parliament, and the specialized agencies.
The Event Services Department offers comprehensive support for events held at Hamburg City Hall. It not only assists event organizers with planning and handles the ordering of equipment and catering, but also manages the events from start to finish. In addition, this department organizes tours of City Hall.
Our state-run agency, with 41 employees, consists of four departments.
Your Responsibilities
As a Council Attendant, you will be responsible for the operational management of events held in the City Hall’s meeting and reception rooms, as well as in the Senate’s guest house.
At the City Hall Service Agency, you can expect a varied and responsible role in close proximity to political events, with the following responsibilities:
Operational preparation and follow-up for events
Service duties at official events
Meeting support services for the Senate and the City Parliament
Guided tours of City Hall
Required
Required
Completed training as a restaurant specialist or hotel specialist with at least two years of professional experience in upscale dining, or
Equivalent professional expertise
Physical stamina to handle setup and rearrangement tasks
Desirable
Experience in supporting high-profile events, receptions, and formal dinners
A sense of responsibility and a service-oriented attitude toward invited guests and when working with external staff
Ability to work well in a team, a structured and reliable work style, and willingness to work various shifts
Proficiency in using standard Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Confident public speaking skills for German-language tours of City Hall; additional foreign language skills (preferably English)
