Your Job
Here's what you can expect on your journey with us:
- You’ll be the decision-maker and be responsible for the entire galley area, in consultation with the hotel manager
- Overall responsibility for the budget and ensuring compliance with food cost targets
- Monitoring ingredient orders in the ship’s inventory management system
- Serving as a cross-departmental liaison for both your crew and the officers
- Providing professional and disciplinary leadership for your team of up to 200 crew members, including creating duty schedules and assigning shifts
- On-site presence during service hours and serving as the point of contact for guests regarding suggestions, feedback, and critiques of the food and the galley area
- Contract duration for your first assignment: 4 months, with the possibility of subsequent contracts
Your Course & Your Talents
What you bring to the table:
- Completed training as a chef (w⁠/⁠m⁠/⁠d) and several years of professional experience in a leadership position in upscale dining and/or on a cruise ship are desirable
- Excellent expertise in the culinary field and food science, which you are eager to share with your team.
- A business-minded, budget-oriented approach, along with the ability to understand business objectives
- A leadership personality with the ability to guide and motivate a team both professionally and disciplinarily
- A well-groomed appearance and excellent manners
- Very good command of German and English
- Proficiency with MS Office applications
