Welcome to the Familotel Engel! Our 4* family hotel in the Black Forest combines a cozy family atmosphere with a touch of adventure. Whether hiking, cycling or skiing - nature is right on our doorstep and makes the Black Forest your office. Our guests, big and small, enjoy varied buffets with regional and international dishes, front cooking, our own bakery and barbecue evenings created by our dedicated kitchen team every day. If you are passionate about cooking and want to lead a motivated team in a traditional yet modern hotel, then you've come to the right place! As we do not have an à la carte business and do not run part-time services, you can concentrate fully on the buffet preparation and mise-en-place and enjoy every evening.

Your tasks

  • Managing the kitchen: You have overall responsibility for the kitchen team and ensure that everything runs smoothly. You will draw up duty rosters and keep up to date with legal requirements in the areas of work and hygiene.
  • Creative menu and buffet design: You develop seasonal and regional dishes that delight our guests. You constantly optimize our buffet with new ideas and ensure that everything is visually appealing and tasty - including your presentation at the front cooking station.
  • Quality and hygiene management: You ensure that all food is always fresh and of the best quality. You also ensure that the hygiene requirements in the kitchen are strictly adhered to.
  • Team leadership and development: You motivate and support your team, act as a role model and promote a positive working atmosphere. You will also be responsible for training our apprentices; if you are not yet qualified as a trainer, we will be happy to support you.
  • Contact with guests: As a chef, you are the face of our kitchen - warm service and personal contact with guests are important to you and contribute to our special feel-good atmosphere.

Your profile (requirements)

  • Experience in the kitchen: Ideally, you have already worked as a chef or in a comparable position. Alternatively, you have sufficient professional experience and the willingness to take on responsibility.
  • Passion for culinary delights: You love good food and want to share this enthusiasm with our young and old guests.
  • Creativity : You enjoy trying out new things - you like to create innovative dishes and refine classics. The further development of our buffet also appeals to you.
  • Team spirit: You are a real team player and know how to motivate and keep a team together. As a leader, you are constantly developing yourself and are a role model for your colleagues.
  • Organizational talent: You keep track of things, whether it's scheduling, rostering or many guests at the same time.
  • Language: very good communication skills in German are essential

Working time model

  • Shift system: 5-day week with 39 hours, in 8-hour shifts without part-time work. Your shift ends at 9:00 p.m. at the latest to ensure that you can finish work.
  • Flexible vacation planning: You can also take vacation during the season - we plan your time off to be as family-friendly as possible, especially if you have school-age children.
  • Family-friendly: If you need childcare for your children, we will find individual solutions to ensure a good work-life balance.
