As a social service provider, Studierendenwerk Bielefeld looks after around 40,000 students at the universities in Bielefeld and Ostwestfalen-Lippe. Our tasks include the operation of large catering facilities, the construction and rental of student accommodation, the implementation of BAföG and the operation of day care centers.
On peak days, up to 7,000 young guests from all over the world visit us in our six canteens and 13 cafeterias and coffee bars. Our offerings are correspondingly diverse. They range from traditional meat and fish dishes to vegetarian and vegan dishes. With around 260 employees in catering, we produce 1,015,945 hot lunches every year.
Your tasks
Professional and personnel management of around 260 employees.
Development and implementation of concepts and ideas to ensure that the Studierendenwerk Bielefeld’s university catering services remain fit for the future.
Responsibility for the department’s business results and internal processes, taking into account our social mission for students.
Development and implementation of optimized work processes.
Ensuring high product and service quality.
Responsibility for compliance with all relevant legal regulations.
In close coordination with the management team and the Executive Board, you will always keep an eye on the Studierendenwerk with all its service areas, work together across departments and bear joint responsibility.
Your qualifications
You are a gastronomy specialist (m/f/d), hotel business economist (m/f/d) or have a degree in business administration with a focus on gastronomy and/or the hotel industry or have comparable professional experience.
Ideally, you have several years of professional experience in a comparable position or in change and project management.
You are characterized by your strong conceptual and analytical skills and your basic attitude of sustainability and social awareness.
Your management style is characterized by an appreciative attitude towards employees from different cultures and backgrounds as well as your ability to work in a team and motivate others as equals.
You enjoy organizing working conditions in such a way that employees have their own creative freedom within clear structures.
Your actions are characterized by a high sense of responsibility, a genuine desire to shape things, an independent way of working, great commitment and a pronounced customer and team orientation.
Your skills include a very good ability to express yourself in German, an understanding of figures and an experienced use of MS Office; you also have a Euro class B driving license.
