The Albert Schweitzer Stiftung für unsere Mitwelt is looking for a:n

Key Account Manager (m/f/d)

for the next possible date in Berlin (high proportion of home office possible) with 35 hours per week (full-time) in a permanent position, unlimited.

Our vision is a world in which no animal suffers for the production of food. Our mission is to work together to raise animal welfare standards and reduce the consumption of animal products. With our campaigns, we work in the areas of business, law, politics and consumer information. At all levels, we work with the relevant stakeholders to take practical steps towards respectful treatment of animals and also make it easier for supposed opponents to abandon previous patterns of action.

In order for our work to have maximum impact, our Food Progress (LMF) team engages with companies in the food industry and persuades them to raise animal welfare standards in the supply chain and reduce the use of animal products. We often work together with friendly NGOs from Germany and abroad. For this work, our LMF team is looking for reinforcement for corporate relations work as soon as possible.

That’s what you do with us:

You have a direct influence on the introduction and implementation of higher animal welfare standards and the reduced use of animal products in the food industry and thus on increasing our impact for animals.

In detail, this means

  • You build long-term and sustainable relationships with companies in the food sector, maintain these relationships and develop them further; your focus is on working with companies from the individual catering sector, e.g. system catering.
  • You will work to improve animal welfare standards, reduce the use of animal products and expand the range of plant-based products in the assortments of individual catering companies. Page 1 | Albert Schweitzer Foundation for our environment
  • You will conduct negotiations on the above-mentioned topics, develop solutions and concepts together with the companies and support the companies during implementation
  • You play a key role in shaping how the Albert Schweitzer Stiftung für unsere Mitwelt is perceived by key companies in the food industry.
  • You inform yourself and independently research potential new cooperation projects and contacts for your work.
  • You will represent the Foundation at trade fairs, congresses, round tables and other food industry events as a participant or as part of presentations.
  • You will support our communications team in creating relevant content relating to the work of the Lebensmittel-Fortschritt team.

Your profile:

  • You have a degree in economics, a related science, commercial training or relevant training in the food industry.
  • You have at least 3 years of professional experience in relevant functions, for example in corporate outreach, relations management, key account management or sales; experience in the food industry is a big plus.
  • You are passionate about communicating in person, on the phone or by email and you have a persuasive and winning manner.
  • You find it easy to network with people and build constructive working relationships with them.
  • You know how to act forcefully in tricky negotiation situations, achieve your negotiation goals and keep a cool head.
  • You are able to organize yourself, prioritize your tasks in collaboration with your division manager and complete your work in a goal-oriented manner.
  • You are familiar with various professional and software tools, such as Asana, G Suite, Microsoft Office, Slack; experience working with a CRM system is a plus.
  • You have a good understanding of the impact of animal production on the environment, health aspects of plant-based nutrition and animal product alternatives.
  • You identify with our vision, mission and culture.

What we offer you:

  • A permanent full-time position on a 35-hour basis: As part of the HR team, you will directly bring about social change and improve animal welfare.
  • Home office opportunities: You will be based in Berlin with flexible, family-friendly working hours in a hybrid model (home office & office).
  • Professional team: Collegial, open exchange in a motivated team.
  • Dog-friendly offices including “dog-free” areas for allergy sufferers and ergonomic workstations. Page 2 | Albert Schweitzer Foundation for our environment
  • Attractive remuneration: Permanent, annual salary between € 45,000 – € 51,750 (experience-based) + bonus payments per quarter.

  • Further training: Active promotion of further and advanced training.
