Your Job
Here's what you can expect on your trip with us:
- Management responsibility for the entire onboard tourism division, as well as the Cruise Sales, Bike Guide, and Golf Pro departments
- Responsibility for assisting and advising passengers regarding excursion programs and personalized arrangements, as well as their sale
- Serving as the point of contact for passengers regarding suggestions, ideas, and feedback
- Presence in the guest areas and serving as an active host for guests
- Responsibility for monitoring and enforcing established quality standards
- Detailed operational planning and, if necessary, adjustment of the excursion program
- Cost accountability for the relevant departments on board
- Briefing local agencies and tour guides, as well as providing content briefings to lecturers
- Knowledge of the local regulations to be observed in the regions visited
- Responsibility for flight handling on board, as well as embarkation and disembarkation
- Serving as a Zodiac driver and actively participating in Zodiac operations
- Responsibility for Zodiac training of the expedition team in consultation with the staff captain
- Partial supervision of guests during the outbound and return flights, as well as during pre- and post-tour programs
Your Course & Your Talents
Here's what you'll bring to the table:
- Professional training as a travel agent or tourism specialist
- Several years of experience in the tourism industry aboard cruise ships, ideally as a shore excursion manager
- Excellent knowledge of destinations worldwide, including expedition destinations (Arctic, Antarctic, North Atlantic, North and South Pacific)
- Very good written and spoken German and English; knowledge of additional foreign languages is desirable
- Very strong computer skills, particularly with MS Office; familiarity with FIDELIO Cruise and MXP is desirable
- Leadership skills, strong communication and motivational abilities, and good conflict management skills
- Presentation experience combined with linguistic and rhetorical confidence
