The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy is looking for the following person in Berlin
to strengthen its team in Division L A 2 “Stakeholder Participation,
Events and Protocol”
a service employee (m/f/d) for the protocol and conference service.

Your tasks will include
- Stocking the Minister’s Secretariat and the secretariats of the State Secretary and State Secretaries with drinks and crockery,
- Setting up and clearing conference and meeting rooms with crockery and drinks,
- Setting up and clearing buffets after delivery by a caterer (in exceptional cases, if not by the caterer itself),
- Operating and cleaning the technical equipment in the protocol kitchen (coffee machine, dishwasher, etc.),
- Inventory work,
- Managing and checking stock levels and
- Putting away and taking out the delivered goods (crates of drinks, pastries, etc.).
Your requirements profile:
- Vocational training completed with a minimum grade of “satisfactory” as a specialist for restaurants and event catering, specialist for system catering, hotel specialist or a comparable qualification.
- Relevant professional experience in conference, event or protocol operations is desirable, ideally in a federal ministry or a comparable institution with representative event operations (e.g. hotel or conference catering, political organizations, foundations).
Personal requirements:
The position is very closely related to the management of the establishment. The area of responsibility requires a very high level of commitment, a high degree of service orientation, discretion and reliability. A willingness to work in a team, initiative and communication skills are essential. Physical fitness, good manners and a well-groomed appearance are required.
Due to the job profile, the position cannot be filled on a part-time basis and is not suitable for working from home. There are regular early appointments (start of duty around 6:00 am) and occasional evening appointments until approx. 9:30/22:00 pm. Duties are distributed fairly within the team on a rotating basis. Careful duty planning ensures predictability.
If you are in a permanent employment relationship with the possibility of secondment, this will be for a period of three months with the aim of subsequent transfer. In all other cases, we offer permanent employment with a six-month probationary period.
Recruitment is based on the collective agreement for the public sector according to pay group 5(https://www.bva.bund.de/DE/Das-BVA/Aufgaben/B/Bezuegerechner/node.html).
In any case, a prerequisite is the willingness to undergo an extended security check in accordance with the Federal Security Check Act (SÜG).
