As a modern employers’ organization, the DEHOGA Baden-Württemberg Hotel and Restaurant Association advocates for the interests of the state’s hotel and restaurant industry in political and public spheres.
As part of the current recruitment campaign WIR GASTFREUNDE (WE HOSPITABILITY PROFESSIONALS), the GastroMobil—a converted articulated bus equipped with interactive learning stations—will visit trade shows and schools throughout the state to provide information about careers in the hospitality industry.
DEHOGA has approximately 12,000 member businesses statewide. All types of hospitality businesses are represented, from large hotels to small taverns, and from gourmet restaurants to bars. DEHOGA advocates for fair competition and works to combat bureaucracy and unnecessarily high costs for hospitality businesses. It also works to enhance the industry’s reputation and promotes training in the restaurant and hotel sectors. As the representative of employers in the hospitality industry, DEHOGA negotiates collective bargaining agreements. Through its service companies, DEHOGA Baden-Württemberg offers a wide range of services to businesses in the industry.
WIR GASTFREUNDE is a youth development project of DEHOGA Baden-Württemberg—supported by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Economic Affairs, Crafts, and Tourism with funding from the European Social Fund. For this project, DEHOGA works in close collaboration with leading industry partners. At the heart of the project is a multimedia-equipped public bus—the GastroMobil.
