Professorship for Hospitality Management (W2)

We are looking for you: scientific, practical, future-oriented
You are a committed person (m/f/d) with scientific expertise and professional experience in the hotel or hospitality industry.
You have experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Strategic and operational (inter)national management in the (chain) hotel industry
- Event management (B2B and/or B2C)
- Entrepreneurship in the hospitality industry.
You are enthusiastic about teaching, research and transfer, set individual priorities within these areas and contribute your diverse skills. You are a personality who
- enjoy working in a solution-oriented team
- have an open mindset and are open to innovation
- communicate empathetically and openly
- have been involved in the hospitality industry for many years
- is very well connected in the German-speaking hospitality industry and familiar with industry trends,
is preferably familiar with digitalization - has preferably already started their career with a degree in the hospitality industry
- has a keen interest in actively developing the future of hospitality teaching and research at the faculty.
The following applies to the professorship
- You may be able to teach courses in related fields, including in other faculties.
- You are willing and able to offer courses in English.
- You are constantly developing your teaching skills and are motivated to use new teaching methods, innovative teaching technologies and online teaching.
- You are actively involved in the further development of the subject area, in the internationalization of the faculty and in the self-administration of the university.
- in addition, you will be involved in applied research projects and in the area of knowledge and technology transfer.
For the professorship you need
- a university degree, preferably in tourism or hospitality management
- pedagogical aptitude, which you can prove, among other things, through the trial course
- special aptitude for academic work, which is proven by a doctorate or by an expert opinion on achievements appropriate to a doctorate
- special achievements in the application or development of scientific knowledge and methods in at least five years of professional practice, which must have been acquired after completion of the university degree and of which at least three years must have been spent outside the university sector. In special cases, proof of professional practice outside the higher education sector can be provided by the fact that a significant part of the professional activity was carried out in cooperation between the university and non-university professional practice over a period of at least five years
