We support the more than 56,500 students in the Stuttgart higher education region in their day-to-day student life with services such as meals, housing, child care, BAföG, and counseling. And we’ve been doing so for more than 100 years!
At our pasta factory in Mensa Central, we produce a variety of homemade pasta dishes. We also delight our guests with front-of-house cooking, featuring wok dishes and homemade bowls. Work side by side with us to support our students and become part of our dedicated team of 380 employees!
Why we need your support:
Together with your colleagues, you’ll ensure that students are well-fed and that they enjoy one of the best parts of their college experience—break time—in our cafeteria. You’ll also serve as the “face” of our cafeteria and create a welcoming atmosphere at the food service counters. At our front-cooking stations, you’ll showcase your skills while interacting directly with guests.
In the kitchen, you’ll prepare our menu items and special dishes in batches, following the recipe guidelines.
You will supervise our kitchen staff in the production and serving areas.
You will contribute to the creation, review, and adaptation of recipes.
In addition, you will implement our HACCP program and ensure compliance with hygiene standards and safety regulations.
What sets you apart:
You have completed vocational training as a chef (m/f/d) and have several years of professional experience, particularly in institutional food service, commercial kitchens, and/or chain restaurants.
Ideally, you have good computer skills (Microsoft Office as well as inventory management systems for ordering, production instructions, etc.).
Your written and spoken German skills are good and at least at the B2 level. You are also able to communicate with our guests in English.
You enjoy working as part of a team and interacting with national and international guests, for example, during front-of-house cooking.
You are also physically fit and able to lift, carry, and store items weighing more than 10 kg.
Furthermore, you have an open, positive, and friendly personality and a well-groomed appearance.
