Your Job
The recipe for your career at sea: a passion for outdoor activities, technical expertise, and the motivation to provide our guests with unique experiences.
- Overall responsibility for the continuous development of the shore activities division (biking, golf, and diving) across the entire fleet.
- Provide technical and instructional leadership, as well as active support, to technical service staff and guides in their day-to-day operations.
- Ensuring and continuously optimizing operational processes, the guest experience, and the technical condition of bicycles, e-bikes, e-scooters, and other equipment.
- Conducting quality controls in the areas of tour procedures, safety standards, guest communication, and technical service, as well as developing sustainable optimization measures.
- Working closely with the management of the Shore Excursion Department (Shore Excursion Manager, Shore Activities Manager, and Assistant Shore Excursion Manager) to further develop operational standards and processes and enhance the overall guest experience.
- Serve as the central point of contact for all matters related to the Shore Activities division, as well as for technical issues, safety standards, and the continuous improvement of processes and tour concepts.
- Active presence in operations and active support for the teams in their day-to-day operations.
Your Course & Your Talents
Here’s what you’ll bring to the table:
- Completed, certified training—ideally as a bicycle mechanic or mechatronics technician, with bike guide training or a comparable qualification.
- Several years of professional experience in the tourism and leisure industry, preferably in the cycling sector.
- Experience working on ships and knowledge of operational procedures aboard a cruise ship are desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of technical service and maintenance of bicycles, e-bikes, and other outdoor equipment.
- Strong commitment to quality, along with a keen eye for operational processes and opportunities for optimization.
- Ability to develop employees through coaching and hands-on support.
- Assertiveness and the ability to consistently enforce standards.
- Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and a passion for collaborating with diverse teams.
- Organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and a confident and professional demeanor.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office for creating documentation, reports, and presentations.
- Willingness to travel frequently and enjoyment of working at various locations across the entire fleet.
- Good written and spoken German and English skills.
