Your Responsibilities

In this key position, you’ll actively help shape the transformation into the GenussWerkstatt and the further development of the site —from construction and investment projects to new production and supply concepts, as well as the establishment of a public cafeteria, a cateringand event area, as well as innovative culinary offerings—all on the path to becoming a forward-looking, inclusive enterprise.

  • You will assume overall technical, personnel, organizational, and financial responsibility for kitchen operations at the Ulmenhof and Wilhelminenhof locations and lead a team of approximately 20 employees, some of whom have inclusion needs.
  • You will manage stable production, serving, and supply processes for up to 2,000 meal units and ensure high-quality institutional food service for senior care facilities and other care settings.
  • You will be responsible for meal and production planning, taking into account senior nutrition, catering for multiple target groups, various dietary requirements, and the quality standards of the German Nutrition Society (DGE).
  • Youare responsible for HACCP, food hygiene, food safety, occupational safety, and quality management, and you ensure consistently high quality in meals and processes.
  • You manage purchasing, inventory management, warehousing, cost of goods sold, budget, and expenses, and use key performance indicators, cost calculations, and monthly closing preparations to ensure the economic management of kitchen operations.

Your Profile

  • You have completed an apprenticeship as a chef or hold a comparable culinary qualification and have several years of management experience in institutional food service, a commercial kitchen, or a comparable food service operation.
  • You have extensive experience managing large-scale kitchen and food service operations.
  • You have excellent knowledge of nutrition for seniors, catering for multiple target groups, and various dietary plans, as well as a solid understanding of DGE quality standards.
  • You are well-versed in HACCP, food hygiene, food safety, inventory management, cost calculation, and cost control, and have a strong understanding of key financial metrics and production organization.
  • You lead in a respectful, clear, and committed manner, think strategically, and act in a solution-oriented way in day-to-day operations. You are committed to sustainability, inclusion, and working with people with disabilities, and you identify with our Christian view of humanity.

Ulmenhof Senior Center

The Ulmenhof Senior Center in Köpenick (Wilhelmshagen), which opened in 2003, is located on the “Ulmenhof,” a historically protected complex of various facilities surrounded by a beautiful, park-like green space.
